Important Notice:
The Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending (TX-SML) changed its Pre-licensure Education (PE) requirements. Beginning October 1, 2013, individuals seeking licensure with the TX-SML are required to complete an additional 3 hours of TX specific education; therefore, TX-SML requires 23 hours of PE education. In other words, individuals who did not apply for licensure by September 30, 2013, with the TX-SML, are now required to complete 23 hours of PE prior to applying for licensure with that state department. 18-Hour SAFE Core Mortgage Loan Originator - Syllabus
Allied’s Mortgage Loan Originator SAFE Core course is a 18-hour online prelicensing course. It is designed to satisfy 18 hours of the pre-licensure education requirements of the SAFE Act, including 3 hours of federal laws and regulations, which includes the TILA-RESPA Rule; 3 hours of ethics, which includes instruction on fraud, consumer protection, and fair lending issues; and 2 hours of training related to lending standards for the nontraditional mortgage product marketplace. The remaining 10 hours cover loan products and programs, underwriting, and settlement procedures. Note: Attendance is measured by the completion of academic events on specified days. 2-Hour SAFE Loan Servicing and Foreclosure - Syllabus
Allied’s 2-Hour SAFE Loan Servicing and Foreclosure Course is an elective education course. It will cover various aspects of loan servicing, such as impound accounts, payoff demand statements, and insurance requirements, as well as processes and procedures related to default and foreclosure. 3-Hour TX-SML SAFE Mortgage Law - Syllabus
This course focuses on Texas-SML defined education, which includes the rules that must be followed when providing home equity loans, HELOCs, and reverse mortgages; procedures related to foreclosing on home equity loans; and the SMA operations, administration, and examination procedures for mortgage companies and mortgage bankers as well as their licensed RMLOs.
