MLO License General Requirements:
An Alaskan MLO license costs $680 which includes the NMLS fee.
Each test taker will get three attempts to pass both the National and State components of S.A.F.E. MLO test before having to wait 180 days before trying again. There is also a 30 day waiting period between each test retake. Test takers will need to pay for each test retaken.
S.A.F.E. stands for The Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008. It was implemented to ensure consumer protection and reduce fraud by requiring all states to meet specific testing standards through the NMLS.
