Because you have already completed Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Practice and one additional course, you do not need to
complete the full 45 hours of continuing education.
You simply need to complete 15 hours of coursework for the first renewal. Your salesperson license is issued for a four-year period and should be renewed prior to the expiration date listed on the license. You will receive instruction in the following areas:
- Agency
- Ethics
- Trust Fund
- Fair Housing
- Risk Management
Due to new DRE requirements to enhance student identity verification, you will be required to enter your CA driver's license or identification number into the computer before you can access your final exams. Call (800) 617-3513 for further details.
Pass or don’t pay! When you enroll in the online course, you have the option to pay after you pass. At Allied, we want you to succeed. Simply enroll in the course. If you do not finish, you don’t have to pay.
Important Notice: If your license expiration date was after 6/30/07, you must take a 3 hour Risk Management Course to renew your license as well as 12 hours of education. Allied's renewal package has the course you need! You may not take the final exam the same day you enroll in the course. By law, you must wait a minimum of two days. You have up to one year to complete the coursework. The final exam is open book and does not require a proctor.

If you have an existing salesperson or broker license and need to meet your four-year renewal requirement, this is the renewal for you. You can satisfy the required hours with Allied’s comprehensive courses.
If you passed the state exam and submitted a license application AFTER October 1, 2007, and are either renewing an original salesperson/broker license for the first time or need to fulfill subsequent renewals, this is the renewal for you.
All real estate salespeople and brokers are required to complete 45-hours of continuing education to keep their California real estate license active and up to date. These hours fulfill the requirements for all brokers and salespersons' renewals (except salespersons' first renewal if a license was submitted before October 1, 2007).
Your salesperson or broker license is issued for a four-year period and should be renewed prior to the expiration date listed on the license. As a reminder, the DRE will mail you a renewal form approximately 90 days prior to the expiration date.
This course applies to individuals with existing licenses. You can complete 45 hours of coursework, with classes that are designed to satisfy all DRE requirements. Choose from an online or traditional home-study format. You will receive instruction in the following areas:

Pass or don’t pay! The renewal programs offer a Pass or Don’t Pay option. This means that you can choose to pay for a course after you complete it. If you don’t pass, then you don’t have to pay. Allied makes it simple!

How are Allied’s renewal courses compliant with new DRE rules?
- The course will be linear, which means that students must proceed through the content in a sequential order.
- All quizzes will be required and students must pass each with a 70% or better to proceed.
- The course will include PDFs of the online content for each module.
- The final exams will follow each content module, i.e., students will read Agency and then take the Agency Final, read Ethics and then take the Ethics Final, etc.
- Students will be allowed two attempts at each exam. If they do not pass the second attempt, the student will have to retake the module.
- The exams must be taken over a minimum 3-day period (15 hours of content tested per day).
